Netscape 4 Email

The settings in Netscape 4 for Windows and Macintosh are almost identical. The ONLY difference is, when your in the preferences, the PC has a + and - symbol to indicate if a group is opened or not where the Mac has a triangle pointing to the right or down.

To change Email account information, click on the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences".

Preferences Main Window

Look for the "Mail & Newsgroups" category. Click on the "Mail Servers" sub-category.

1. Check to see if "mail.snowcrest.net" is in the "Incoming Mail Servers" box. If it is there, skip to step 3. Otherwise, go to step 2.
2. Click the "Edit" button to add the SnowCrest mail server.
3. Type "mail.snowcrest.net" in the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server" box.
4. Click "OK" and you're done.

Mail Server Info > General

1. Type "mail.snowcrest.net" in the "Server Name" box.
2. Select "POP" from the "Server Type" box.
3. Type in your SnowCrest Email username in the "user Name" box. If your SnowCrest Email is "myname@snowcrest.net", you would only enter "myname" here. This box is case sensitive.
4. Click the "POP" tab on the top to check more options.

Mail Server Info > POP

1. Make sure the box titled "Leave messages on server" is unchecked.
2. Click "OK" and you're done.
