Cartref Mynydd is Welsh for Mountain Home

(It's pronounced "car-tref min-ith" rolling the "r's")

Our thanks to New Zealand e-mail pal, David George for rekindling our interest in our Welsh heritage and for translating "mountain home."

We named our house Cartref Mynydd in honor of our great grandfather who was born in Newbridge, Wales in 1849. Anyone interested in George or Craven genealogy please contact weshawk@snowcrest.net

Via the internet we found our cousin, Michael George in Wales. He has compiled an exhaustive genelology of the George family. More importantly he has visited us twice in Mount Shasta. We've devoted an entire page about Michael
