	This photo shows irrigated pastures on the Meamber Ranch just upstream of the Montague/Grenada Road. When irrigation is taking place, either on the Meamber Ranch, or on the properties of uphill neighbors, tailwater is captured here and pumped back onto the pasture reducing the amount of river water needed. This also prevents warm, nutrient rich waters from entering the Shasta River.
