Will, John and Nina sail from the AFRC resort on the lake, Chiemsee, in the "Candy." A fabulous place to sail, the largest lake within Germany's borders does not allow fast or loud motors. Sailors dock at the many resorts edging the lake or at the islands in its center. On one is King Ludwig's castle, on another, an ancient church, lovely beer gardens and restaurants.

Ken and Diane visited Chiemsee for three weeks in the summer of 1997. Will and Ken were sailing to Fritzi's beer garden on Frauen Insle this day.

As always, Will was a wonderful and enthusiastic host. Here, Will and Diane are playing golf in Garmisch.

Ken, Diane and Will drove to Italy for a few days and visited Pisa on the way to Cinque Terra on the Mediterranean Sea. These pictures show a 10 mile trail above the sea in Cinque Terra and  taking the boat back.

Back in Germany  Ken, on the right,  attended a Reggae Fest with Dusten, Candy, Maria, in yellow hat, Harrison, and Willie.

Will  threw a party for his dad's birthday and last night in Germany. His was the only room in employee housing to boast a barbecue and picnic table outside. Will loved to cook and we were glad we got to see him in his element.

Will visited Lake Como in northern Italy.

Back at AFRC's JFK (Just for Kids) Program, Will took the kids to Munich. He supervised the children on visits to the zoo, parks and other attractions. He really enjoyed children and they tended to like him, too.
