Snowshoeing

As the bones get more brittle and the reactions a bit slower, one seeks a winter sport to replace downhill skiing. It certainly isn't snowboarding! We've tried cross country skiing and may continue it at some point. The first winter we lived in Mount Shasta we decided to rent snowshoes and see if we enjoyed it. We loved it! It's as easy as walking, the equipment is simple and inexpensive, and you can travel over snow that would be difficult on skis. In fact you can go anywhere without getting out of control, and that's part of the attraction. Anyway we immediately purchased our own shoes and and used ski poles and it's become our outdoor activity of choice in the winter months.

Below are links to some descriptions with photos of a few of our snowshoeing experiences.
