BRIEF BIOGRAPHIC SKETCH- Jeanne Greenwood Nager-

Jeanne's artistic talents resulted in her being the first woman apprentice in the San Francisco Jeweler's Guild in the 1940s doing fine diamond and platinum jewery design and creation. In the 50s and 60s Jeanne and her husband, George, raised their two boys from Marin County to Beverly Hills and back.

The 1970s found Jeanne and her husband in Weaverville working at their Book, Antique, Toy, Art Supply and Framing Business behind the Bandstand at Court and Center Streets. Divorced in the early 1980s Jeanne took classes through Shasta College, and renewed her interest in Watercolor, Montage and Collage. A new husband and increased success with her art celebrated the mid-80s with shows and awards throughout the Northstate.

The 90s have been full of exciting works of art from realism to surrealism, abstract to natural watercolor and collage. After Jeanne's husband's death, she has continued to create wonderous Collage images using cut-outs from magazine pages and her imagination. The finished images are often duplicated in watercolor paintings.

The 2000s are full of works from abstract to the realistic, reflecting what strikes the artist's fancy. Participation in various shows at local galleries continue to keep her involved in the local art scene.

Jeanne currently paints primarily in watercolor and creates Collages in her private Studio-Gallery that is now open only by appointment.
