The county has several private physicians, practicing in varied specialties including Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Surgery.

Trinity Hospital also operates a Laboratory that can provide state-of-the-art testing for your local physician, or send the results electronically elsewhere.

In Southern Trinity, at Mad River, the Southern Trinity Health Services provide medical, dental, ambulance and rescue services. It is affiliated with North Coast Clinics Network.

Another important resource is the out-or-area healthcare services provided by Mercy Hospital and Shasta Regional Medical Center, formerly,Redding Medical Center in Redding and the St.Josephs Hospital Group in Eureka.

The County of Trinity Public Health division of the Health and Human Services Department are an important part of our Trinity healthcare system.

A private community clinic in Hayfork, serves the area and offers convenient medical services that are complimented by the wide variety of services availiable at, Mountain Community Medical Services, the former Trinity Hospital in Weaverville.

Trinity's residents appreciate the high level of care close to home, and find a good working relationship between out of area medical services in Redding and Eureka areas and Trinity's own medical service providers. The availability of prescriptions and medical supplies is good, with the local pharmacies in Hayfork and Weaverville serving their rural customers and neighbors.

Southern Trinity Health Services in Mad River provides a full variety of health services, with working relationships whith Hospitals in Fortuna, and throughout Humboldt County and Trinity Hospital..

The Willow Creek area of Humboldt County also has Six Rivers Medical Center availiable for those in Western Trinity.

Even if you are living or just visiting some of the more remote areas of Trinity, you will find trained emergency medical personnel responding with many local Volunteer Fire-Rescue agencies. It is not unusual to have seasonal responses by medical personell by watercraft or off-road vehicles at the peak of tourist seasons.

When necessary patient transportation is availiable, weather permitting, by Helicopter, fixed wing Aircraft or modern life support ambulances. Trinity County Life Support based in Weaverville in concert with the many dedicated Volunteer Fire-Rescue Agencies in Trinity that provide Emergency Medical Services.

MercAir is operated by PCI, a nationwide air ambulance service provider, Mercy Hospital itself is nolonger in the air-ambulance "business". REACH Air Amblance provides service to Trinity County.

Reminder...Medical Transportation from Trinity County to Shasta County or Humboldt County Hospitals is not a perfect situation. Helicopters may not be availiable immediately, flight weather may not be good enough to transport at all. A small part of the time, there are NO BEDS AVAILIABLE IN DESTINATION COUNTY and your eventual destination may be actually farther away. Highway conditions due to snow, ice, and storms may prevent or delay motor vehicle transportation in winter months.

There is licensed residential care, and various types of home care, senior housing, assisted care. There are two active senior citizen's centers in Trinity, the Roderick Senior Citizens Center in Hayfork and the Golden Age Center in Weaverville.

There are "meals-on-wheels" and daily luncheon programs, tax preparation assistance, transportation coordination, Red Cross DAT Teams, and other volunteer programs availiable through the Golden Age Center.

Professional medical services are available in Trinity; Physical therapy, Chiropractic Care, Optometric Care, Theraputic Massage, Accupuncture and other Healthcare services.

There is dental and orthodonic care availiable, along with other medical specialties in Trinity County. Special Dietary, herbal and customary medical supplies are also availiable too.

There is medical care for all of Trinity's Citizens. Healthcare Planning actively continues to facilitate the necessary changes required to keep a wide assortiment of healthcare services available and modern hospital presence in line with projected community needs.

In November, 2006, the voters of Triity County approved two ballot propositions that resulted in the formation of a Healthcare District, and a property tax assessment to fund it. This will insure that Trinity Hospital will remain open for atleast 5 years.

In recent years,many residents of Trinity County have sold their houses and moved closer to required healthcare providers in Shasta County or elsewhere. There is no business or government provided medical transportation other than ambulance, or volunteers associated with certain diseases. A private cab company advertises limited medical transportation.
