On this board those of us who are ex-devotees will be happy to discuss with you the reasons why or why not sb might be a genuine avatar. But I for one won't read long discourses or respond to personal attacks.
If you are indeed devotees of sb, why would you want to attack another person whose beliefs are different from yours?? Is this the signature of a ssb devotee? Is this doing justice to your chosen guru? Is someone giving you your posting orders for the sb sites??

"Oh Sadhuji! Mejda replied, "you truly have a great heart, for otherwise you could not have admitted your weakness in front of your disciples. No man can ever say, 'I AM GOD.' The wave on the ocean cannot say, 'I am the ocean.' It can only say, 'The ocean has become the wave.' God is the ocean of light out of which come the waves of haman forms. Can a man contain the Infinite Ocean in the finite wave of his bodily form? With our human limitations, we cannot even compehend-let alone encompass-His magnitude, which pervades every atom in the universe. It is only when we have attained realization of Truth that we may speak with divine authority,"

a) genuinely trying to inform those people hooked into the delusion of 'sb' that they are being taken for the most distasterous ride of their eternal life.
b) trying to assist devotees who are trying to leave him and get away from his energy, of how to re-align to true Source/God/All That Is. c) to realise that all those people who have left him have also experienced these visitations and fears of leaving him - and they have come through this without harm and gone on to become healthy and happy. Once they are sufficiently detached from him have been able to stand back and see what they were really involved in.
d) to realise that everything in life is a learning experience and not to feel stupid or guilty that they were taken in by this clever energy and soul capturer and molester, but to accept the learning in discernment - learn not to give their power away again - and to move on with joy and light connected back to the one true Source of Light - GOD.

(Continued from 67) When Yogananda was a boy he would sometimes flee his home in search of saints. Once his older brother, Ananta, took Mejda(PY) to see a saint in an attempt to finally satisfy the quest. Parts of the story from Sanada Shosh's book "Mejda", SRF, 1992, pp 101-4:
..."From time to time he oened his heavy eyelids to reproach his disciples for worshipping too boisterously; they were disturbing his inner serenity. Ananta's intrusion was not welcome. The saint's disciples refused to let him near their reclining Godhead. What do you want? Can't you see he's resting? He gets very angry if he is disturbed."
Ananta hesitated for he had not much experience with saints. Having come this far, however, he determined to carry out his plan. He gripped Mejda's hand and forced his way through the cluster of devotees. Those who saw the reverence in Mejda's face gave way readily. Soon Ananta and Mejda were seated near the august presence.
Ananta addressed the sadhu respectfully: "Your Holiness, kindly grace us with your glance. I have brought my brother to receive your blessing." Mejda bowed humbly. The saint opened his eyes and gazed at Mejda's quiet, serene countenance.
The saint's disiples marveled that Mejda had attracted their guru's attention, when all their service and devotion had been seemingly ignored. What had he offered? How had his simple bow commanded this response? But the saint's shrill voice dispelled the moment of awe: "Young man! Are you seeking the Divine? Your search is at an end: I AM GOD!"
Mejda's face registered shock. "I see you don't recognize me, "the saint fumed, "You are still blinded by delusion and attraction to family life." Mejda was calm as he spoke with deep conviction. "Respected Soul, never say that YOU ARE GOD."
Indignation clouded the saint's face; it became dark, as though ink had been poured over his body. He resented the impudence of this young boy. His chest heaved and swelled; his face became distored with anger. Mejda took a small mirror from is shoulder bag and held it up before the sadhu.
"Look at yourself! Is this the face of God? Can the God of love and beauty Whom I have sought day and night, month after month, year after year, have such a face? No! God is not greedy. He does not deceive his Devotees in order to procure a following and the gifts they bring..."
"You are leading your disiples into greater ignorance by flattering your ego and theirs. Show them instead the path of liberating truth.... We are only playing make-believe for a time in these garbs of flesh.... Everything and everyone belongs to God; He is all.

I want to talk today about another "red flag" that I put on the shelf, so to speak, when I was a SSB devotee. This aspect is somewhat subtle and I think it involves discrimination. I will begin by stating that a metaphysical friend once said to me "A true Avatar does not go around claiming that is an Avatar". Now up front I know about the SSB statement wherein he says that he is God, but we are God also.
I will never forget the lump felt in my throat at a SBB conference when watching a video showing the famous letter SSB wrote to his brother on May 25th, 1947. In the letter Baba says, "No one can comphrend MY GLORY, whoever that person is, whatever the method of inquiry, however long the attempt."
Examples from Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol IX, pp 82-83, a talk given at Brindavan, June 19th, 1974:
"They are unable to gauge the sanctity, the majesty and eternal reality that is me. The POWER of Sai is LIMITLESS; It manifests for ever, All forms of 'power' are resident in THIS SAI PALM....But, those who profess to have understood Me, the scholars, the Yogis, the Pundits,...are aware only of the least important of the casual external manifestation of an infinite small part of that power, namely, the "miracles"! They have not desired to contact the SOURCE OF ALL POWER and WISDOM that is available here at Briddavan. They are satisfied when they secure a chance to exhibit their book-learning and parade their scholarship in Vedic Lore, not realizing that the Person from whom the Vedas emanated is in their midst , for their sake....
...They exaggerate the role of miracles, which are as trival, when compared to MY GLORY AND MAJESTY, as a mosquito is in size and strength to the elephant upon which it squats...My power is IMMEASURABLE; MY TRUTH IS INEXPLICABLE, UNFATHOMBLE....
Now, I must tell you, that during the Sai Avatar, there is no place for even such 'drama' with scenes of failures and defeats! ... I AM TRUTH."

So SSB claims he is the ULTIMATE ABSOLUTE. I will contrast this with the following story about Swami Yogananda. Please note I am not promoting any particular Guru.

Howdy folks, I jes wanna let ya'll know how we spot UFOs here in the great smoky mountains of tennessee. First ya git yerdef a couple a cases of muffdiver (a local beer), and a gallon of generic vodka, put the LSD and peyote, in the vodka, and set aside. Smoke a few pounds of homegrown herb, knock back a half dozen beers, then start to sippin on the vodka. About 15 to 20 minutes later the flyin soucers start landin all over the gosh darned place. Little green ladies (and men) hop out of their flyin soucers and start runnin all over the place, shoutin "Thank ya Jesus!", and "praise the lord!", and "Hallalullia bozo, I been born agin!", it's a most amazing sight to behold. By all means take the board. I continue to be active in getting the truth out there, but my time fits better in handling much of this exposure by mail rather than the net.
Re your friend. I feel that most real 'sb' devotees, as they pass on, sit in a very crowded band of the astral plane close to the physical earth plane. Lots of astral beings around jammed up in that space - like battery chickens! If the person has some inner stregth they usually manage to get out of the really crowded part before long and then just move around the astral area, still controlled by 'sb'. Unfortunately, moving from the 3rd to the 4th dimension doesn't mean a person becomes free of 'sb'. It is still always a choice and they haven't changed their mind about being a devotee, so they remain so.
The path ahead into higher levels of light is blocked to them because their vibration is too dense (because they are conected to him), so they usually incarnate again - and remain still hooked to him. That is his plan.
I am sure she wouldn't have listened to you, so I would simply let it go and allow the person their free will and choice to learn in the manner and in the time they wish.
Guides can not overide free will and choice, so they must stand back. That is universal law. Only if the person regains some awareness and requests their help,can they intervene.
You could always try asking your angels and guides to assist her - ask on behalf of her - what she would in fact ask for if she knew who she had REALLY linked to.
"In the Name of God, I ask for the highest light beings to assist..(name).. to help bring her to greater awareness of her decisions and the true path to greater light. If it be in Divine order, please assist her to connect only to the pure Light of Source/The creator/All That Is."
Try that. You never know, you may get her clear of him yet.

Anthony, I have a question for you. A die-hard devotee friend recently died. She was found sprawled on the bathroom floor, apparently the victim of a stroke. Before her death she had another earlier stroke and was incapacitated for four years.
After her death, I had this strange sense of suffocation and felt that she was still "around." (Other devotees have complained of suffocation experiences.) I kept seeing her trapped. It was a really uncomfortable sensation. I felt very helpless and wondered if I should have done more when she was alive to try to convince her of ssb's true nature. But I don't think she would have listened. After awhile (maybe a few weeks), I felt better about her, as if she had gained some freedom.
This made me wonder. What happens to well meaning ssb devotees when they die?? Was this experience my imagination, or was this lady kept in a sort of limbo for a time?? We all have guardian spirits. How can they help if their "help" means going against a person's ingrained belief system?
Sorry....there's a lot to think about here.

If at least some of us are willing to say what they know to be the truth, there is a possibility that some of those hooked devotees will allow the buried doubts they have about him - to surface and be acknowledged instead of burying them thoughts because they can't bear the possibility that he is not god - and he is NOT - certainly not in the way he claims.
Of course there is magic. Lots of paid are amply paid for such a profession. 'sb' is also amply - with the energy of millions who throw themselves at his feet and give him their life. What a shock they are in for at the end of this road.

I actually only started this topic to see how easy it was to do so with Quick topic. That was after the other board was getting hit a lot. I really don't expect this one to go on. I don't have the time or expertise to monitor or run a real board.
I have never posted on any Yahoo board. I don't see much point in telling those people about this board, as it not a real functioning board linked to anywhere.
I would constantly refer people the www.saibabaguru.com site - and let them read the existing material already on there. Just keep popping a post up with that url on it. That will help those really seeking the truth.
Some day, someone will link a real message board again to a good 'sb' exposure site.
Just think of the karma being accrued by the people trying to prevent the truth getting out! That they don't realise they are stopping truth, is irrelevant. Ignorance never did make a difference as far as karma goes!

Unlike many people, i am a original Shirdi Sai Baba devotee.But, when I heard & read my beloved Shirdi has re-incarnated and for us to see ,hear etc,i just belived.No miracles have happened on account of Raju for me to name ,but neverthless was greatly impressed by the devotees discipline and order in the congregation.I f your a Hindu,you would understand exactly what i mean.Its part & parcel in our holy places chanting of mantrams,clangging of bells,a cacophony of voices, its really beautiful. But when I was in Raju's congregation,it appealed to my saner sensibilities. I repeat I was never ever enamoured by Vibhuthi swishing,materialisation of articles because i knew its all tricks right from the beginning.
In fact i used to be amused by people who were in awe of such tricks.But that's exactly how people have been following him as he arouses the curiosity in you and for some people verily make them feel he is one & all.

raju affects people like a drug. I know, I've been there (raju that is, not drugs). Many people can't give it up. It seemed as though he was in the sky, he was in music; if I saw a flock of birds flying in a certain pattern, I felt that he was the choreographer. It's so hard to switch over to a faceless, silent God after years of thinking you know exactly what that being looks like; what his voice sounds like; where he lives; what kind of clothes he wears. If we can just help to prevent new people from getting hooked in the first place, we will have accomplished something worthwhile.
