Self-employed & hobbyist software developer with her own projects and large collection of MS-DOS software "tools" in PowerBasic syntax, possibly to be reborn as Java applets.

A dedicated computer nerd/programmer/software developer since 1969, now doing technical writing, among other things, with WordForWindows, HelpMagicianPro (WindowsHelpFiles), Doc2Help, and various HTML editors, most habitually (lately), Almost Reality, Web Publisher, and EasyHelp/Web; also IC Spider.

To receive instructions on how to download writing samples, send me email, specifying "sample TW".

Seeking technical writing assignments from software companies that want to "farm out" this work; or any kind of document-processing that could be done by "telecommuting", at home, on my own personal computers.

I am especially interested in computer telephony software, help desk software, any kind of interactive learning software, especially Netscape and HTML type documents. I am learning Java.

Send me your FAX number, and I can FAX you a flowchart I did on the writing process.

I don't do interviews that require travel. I don't do on-site work. I only "telecommute, working at home on my own PC's. [OK, OK, I would consider a traveling technical support job, if I can always return to my home out here in the mountains.]

Preferred delivery method is by modem. Fail-safe copies can be sent by UPS or USPS priority mail. I don't commute in bumper-to-bumper traffic, dress-to-impress, or play office politics. I also don't waste time smoking cigarettes. I have been learning Systems Theory(Thinking) and Quality Management, in our local community college, in the Process Technology program.

Computer programmer, software developer, and computer addict since mid-1969, the first six years as a fulltime salaried programmer in assembly language, on mini-computers, in electronic component testing, police message-switching, pipeline control, and traffic control systems. Last name was "Seth".

Exact times and companies are listed in my mini-resume in the "Who's Who In California", 1983+, under "Soza". Copy furnished on request. If you are a California company, you can probably find one in your local library.

Member of Mensa, the high-IQ society for the top two percent. National Merit Finalist, in high school, '63. Proof furnished on request.

I was "semi-retired", into remarriage, since mid-1976, until my husband died in December 1992. I have lived in Siskiyou county since 1976. I have a widow's pension, but still need to work.

B.S. in Chemistry, '68, Lamar, Beaumont, Texas; with senior seminar on elementary particles, and the interface between matter and energy.

One and one-half years as a proofreader for a newspaper; one year of technical writing experience
for a NASA contractor, '68 - '69; computer experience since mid 1969; technical writing for my own software; paralegal type experience since 1977.

More detail on pre-Yreka employment.

I have actually learned how to learn much faster and easier since college. I have never stopped studying and learning. I use both sides of my brain in my writing, and in my software development.

[P.S. After taking a semester and a half, of Systems Thinking under Milan Vodicka and his pioneering wholistic teaching methods, at the Process Technology Training Center, in Yreka, and some other factors that promoted Whole-Brained thinking, I am smarter than ever. Willing to adapt to whatever format and style you require.

1996 Update:
I have become faster on WordForWindows, and added Visio, MicroSoftPublisher, HelpMagicianPro, Doc2Help, numerous HTML editors and aids. I am busily learning Java.

I am working on my memoirs, and publishing them on the Internet, to the consternation of all those editors and publishers who said that my concepts were too advanced for their mainstream (eighth-grade reading level) readers, and therefore, getting lots of practice with HTML tools, and Windows Help Files.

I am getting really good at staying in a whole-brained meditative state 90% of the day and night. This makes it easier to learn faster and I find that I need less sleep.

1993: I was exploring setting up my own BBS, with WildCat, and was especially interested in doing assignments for companies in the computer telephony, Internet, modem, BBS, or voice-processing areas.

I am also interested in commodities trading software, and related software products, any jobs-related or skills-related software, on-line help systems, VoiceMail, technical support contact managers, and add-on toolkits for any form of BASIC.

All work will of course be confidential, and I am willing to sign agreements to protect your interests.

As an Independent Contractor, I will do the writing to your satisfaction, but I don't work on-site, and I work my own hours. Instead of a job interview, I propose, instead, a "get-acquainted" process, over the phone, FAX, and modem.

Give me a small writing assignment. Read the results. Tell me what you don't like, what you do like. I will learn how to write it the way that you want your stuff written.

Tell me how much you can afford to spend. Define the "homework" assignment. Tell me where to download the files I need, or ship me the old manuals, dictate some cassette or micro-cassette tapes, or tell it to me over the phone.

1993 Rates: $18 to $25 per hour, billed weekly, depending upon the size of the company. See HowToBeAHeartCenteredBusinessPerson

1996 Rates: negotiable, billed weekly, depending upon the size of the company.

Thanks for calling.
