This is the south end of the historic Redding Passenger Depot.
The city fathers , Union Pacific, and the local museum
have finally decided to fix the old girl back up.
She's tired. Lots of dry rot.

Our Power is the UP905 which is sitting on the siding.
The other power in the background is from the
Redding~Roseville Hauler.

Our north unit is one of the Mother-Mate GP40-2's
that the Southern Pacific ordered special for
the control units of those tractive effort booster units
that were used in Oregon on the branch lines.
This unit is a little tired looking but boy is it a sweet runner !
The trucks look rebuilt and the wheels are new and thick.
It rides like a cadilac.......Dead Smooth______________..

The red brick building in the background is the historic
hotel that was built in the late 1800's .
The California and Oregon railroad stoped here
in Redding for 11 years ( I believe it was ) until
finances were obtained to complete the line to Portland.

Here we are at South Redding.
Waiting for a northbound.....

Here's our north guy, and were off to the races !

Out first stop is usually here at Moss Lumber.
There's Moss, Reliable Trucking and Shasta Cascade Reload,
all located off this spur which comes of the main at North Girvan.

The "Z" is gone, and were off to Anderson !

Headed Home back to Redding....
