The Chico Creek Fencing Center is
dedicated to the study, application and enjoyment of swordplay. We
offer group classes and private lessons. Our facility is over 3,000
square feet and includes metallic strips and electronic scoring machines.
What is Fencing?
Simply put, fencing is swordplay.
It is a sport that originated with the duel. There are three weapons
used in modern Olympic style fencing: epee, foil and sabre.
Each weapon has slightly different rules, but the goal is the same.
Who Fences?
Boys and Girls, Men and Women.
People of all ages, shapes and sizes fence. Some do it for the
romantic nature of the sport. Others do it for the incredible
workout it provides, but most do it because it is fun.
Instructors:
Head Coach: Eric M. Ricketts

Mr. Ricketts started fencing in
Baltimore, Maryland in 1986. He is a four time division foil
champion and a 2002 Pacific Coast Championships finalist. He is
rated in all three weapons. Additionally, he is a nationally rated
Certified Referee Instructor and has officiated the finals of the National
Championships and the Junior Olympics. His students compete at all
levels including the Junior Olympics and the North American Circuit.
