Corian Corian, which is manufactured by DuPont, is the original solid surface material and has been trusted by architects, interior designers, builders and homeowners for nearly 40-years. Corian is made from a combination of natural minerals, natural color pigments and 100% pure liquid acrylic. It is completely non-porous so it will not stain, even when exposed to such products as red wine, vinegar, lemon juice, coffee, permanent markers, and nail polish. It is also 100% hygienic so it will not support the growth of mold, mildew or bacteria and is an approved surface by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) for commercial kitchens. One of the beauties of Corian is that is virtually "seamless", meaning that when we glue two pieces of Corian together to form a longer or wider piece, the pieces are fused together with a special Corian glue that provides a seam that has no gaps, no open seams and no porous grout - resulting in an impermeable bond that will not allow liquids to penetrate and depending on the color and pattern of the Corian, virtually disappears. Unlike other countertop materials, Corian is a solid material with the color and pattern running all the way through the material. This allows for easy repairs and creates a surface that is completely renewable - meaning that several years down the road, you can restore the countertop to its original finish with just a little bit of sanding.
