Cultured
Marble Care and Maintenance
Cultured marble
is an easy product to clean and maintain. Follow these simple steps
to help keep the "good as new" look for your cultured marble
product for a lifetime of beauty and service.
-
Never use
an abrasive cleaner, steel wool, scouring pads, scrapers or sandpaper
on any part of the cultured marble surface - doing so will permanently
damage the surface.
-
Clean with
a general purpose liquid detergent - 409, Pinesol and Tilex all work
very well on cultured marble.
-
To remove
built up hair spray, paint, or other difficult stains from the
surface, use turpentine, denatured alcohol or paint thinner.
-
To remove
plaster or construction residue, scrape the surface lightly with a
wooden edge and wash with a mild liquid detergent. Never use a
wire brush or metal tool to scrape residue from the cultured marble
surface.
-
If the
stain is from hard water or mineral deposits, then use a liquid
cleaner for removing iron, calcium, or other mineral deposits that may
be in your water supply. Most of these types of cleaning agents
will not damage the gel-coat as long as the label instructions are
followed carefully
-
Restore
dull surfaces by using a liquid compound (such as what is used on
cars) followed by a light application of liquid wax.
