These are some of my first railroad photos. I began shooting slides in early 1959 and then moved up to medium format films in 1960. There will be more photos added to this section as I scan them.

SP Operations 1960's-1980's

Lots of first generation diesels, F-units, Gp-9's, Alco's, etc. Also in this section are some of the second generation diesel power including SD40's and SP's unique Tunnel Motors. These photos were taken from early 1960 into the early 80's. They cover the SP from the Bay Area to Donner Pass and from the Mt Shasta Area to Los Angeles.

This section contains photos of SP power from rebuilds of second generation power to some of SP's last power orders including various General Electric diesels and EMD SD70's. A majority of the photos were taken in the Mt Shasta area and cover the 1980's up to the demise of the SP.

This section contains photos of some of SP's west coast passenger trains. From their famous streamliners to their mail trains and locals including their commute service. These were taken from early 1960 till the takeover of passenger service by Amtrak.

This section contains photos of various SP Cabooses.
