Dinner Price

This years dinner will be:

 

$65.00 per person

 

As always there will be a deadline to get in on the dinner

and this year the deadline is June 28, 2010.

June 28, 2010-Dinner Deadline

 

I know that some of you don`t agree that there should be a deadline, but here is the scoop.

 

Adding people after the deadline date;

This is not a buffet, it a plated meal and the caterers don`t let you just add 10, 20 or more people after the cutoff date.  They try to have a small coverage for a few, but they have to cook those dinners and have them ready, even if no one shows up for the meals, so who pays for those dinners if no one shows?  the caterers?  me?  that is why there is a deadline.  In the past, restaurants and caterers were willing to work with people on late comers, but with the recession they don`t want to get stuck with extra dinners, they want to get paid for all dinners that are cooked and this year just like last year they made that very clear.

 

It is a prepaid dinner for several reasons;

I would love to leave the dinner open for people to just show up and attend, but the caterers require me to give them a final dinner count ten days prior to the event.

 

Last year, the reason that I was able to add people to the dinner after the deadline is Howard and I paid for two extra tables (16 dinners) for people that joined the last minute, (if those were not sold WE would have been out the money  -  16 times $50 for $800).

 

There was enough interest that we were not stuck, but this year I don`t know if I want to take the chance, so all of you people that can`t make up your mind or those of you that want to see a schoolmate or family member at the dinner, please don`t wait until the last minute to let them know or make your decision to come or not. Because I don`t want you count on those being available again.

I was really in the Dog-House with Howard that I purchased $800 of extra dinners.

The deadline date is the refund date, June 28, 2010, for those of you that pay and then something comes up and you can`t make the dinner and would like a refund.

(So~If you can`t make the dinner and it`s prior to June 28, 2010 let me know and I will refund your money.

If it is after June 28, 2010 call me and let me know and I will put your dinner(s) on a list and sell them to the first people that call and if they are sold, I will refund your money).

 

Please do not send someone to the dinner in your place and tell them that they can have your meal(s), it causes a big mess at the front door. If you want someone to have your dinners let me know and I will make the changes at my end and then everyone knows who is coming and there won`t be any problems.

 

The reason for this is, once the deadline arrives and I give the caterers the dinner count, that is the number of dinners I pay for. In the past, people would want to make changes or cancel all together, all those changes have cost ME, and yes I mean they have cost Howard and I money, we pay the difference and we are not doing that this year.

 

In years past if someone wanted a refund for what ever reason, I would give them a refund no matter when they ask for their money back, but the last two years this has become a real problem and Howard and I end up picking up the tab.
