1.Q: "Why should I choose Blue Green algae?"
A: All blue-green algae are very special in that they contains almost all of the vitamins, minerals and amino acids present in nature. Algae is rich in amino acids (60% protein), minerals, chlorophyll, enzymes, vitamins, nucleic acids, essential fatty acids and antioxidants. It contains a broad range of naturally chelated vital trace minerals and provides natural complex sugars. Because its cell walls contain a high percentage of floridian starch, it provides natural complex carbohydrates critical for the health of tissues and cells. Algae contains an extremely high percentage of chlorophyll, one of the highest sources of Beta-Carotene, a rich source of amino acids which help build neuropeptides. It is unique in the world and grows in the "wild", so it is genetically superior to other "non-wild" sources of algae. It is the fundamental basis of the food chain and a foundational nutrient source for creating and renewing all life on earth. It is truly one of the world's most powerful foods and its nutrients are easily assimilated. It has the possility of providing you with energy.
If adding such a small amount of food to your entire diet can create such dramatic change... then that food must be very special! How many other foods given in such small amounts might affect your health in such a positive way? The bottom line is how you feel when you eat Blue Green algae. This is where the excitement starts.
2.Q: "Should I expect health benefits right away?"
A: Everyone is different and reacts differently when starting the algae, so it really depends on your state of health and overall balance when you begin eating the Algae. The Algae provides the essential raw materials your body needs to create and maintain balance. Independent research has shown that eating the algae stimulates the movement of an average of 40% (nearly 1 billion!) of the circulating Natural Killer cells from the blood to the tissues within two hours of consumption. Once inside the tissues their main function is to perform immune system clean-up so they are responsible for finding and removing any unhealthy cells, such as cancer or virally contaminated cells.
These research results are not only quite impressive to look at, but the research results are truly "dip stickable." That's the word the senior research scientist at the University of New Mexico invented for BGA. In other words, when you take 4 capsules, he can measure the results . When you stop, he can also measure the lack of results. In addition to the immune system benefits, the brain wave research they have done has shown that the left and right sides of the brain work much more in unison when just four capsules of BGA are eaten each day.
Many people report noticeable benefits such "improved mood, overall feeling of well being, more consistent energy, sharper and clearer thinking..."
3.Q: "Which products should I use first?"
A: In the first week, acidophilus and enzymes should probably be the only algae products taken. Why? It is best to add beneficial flora to your intestines, because they help the body to absorb and utilize the nutrients in the Algae as well as those in the rest of your food. The high quality enzymes also help to aid in digestion. Both products have small amounts of Blue Green algae in them to help potenize the effects. You want to receive the most you can when you take your algae, so the week of preparation will best suit your needs. They are ideal complements to your Algae consumption and the rest of your diet, under any situation.
Sometimes we suggests that you start with Omega Algae Vegicaps because it seems to be more easily tolerated in the beginning. Omega Algae usually has a more specific effect on your mood and mental/emotional well being. Alpha Algae, which is the complete, whole cell, generally has more influence on your overall health and physical well being. Some people prefer more of one or of the other. Some people vary the amount of each depending on whether they require more physical or more mental energy at the time. Whether you prefer capsules or tablets is up to you. I prefer capsules and would suggest starting with those first -- the Algae in both is identical. The capsules for the algae are suitable for vegetarians and the tablets use a binder which promotes the growth of healthy intestinal flora.
4.Q: "How is Blue Green Algae different from other algae, like Spirulina, Chlorella or other "green foods?"
A: Spirulina is a blue-green, while Chlorella is a green algae, which means it has an indigestible cellulose cell wall that must be processed or cracked to be assimilated. They are both freshwater algae. Both Spirulina and Chlorella are cultivated in man-made environments under artificially controlled conditions, while Blue Green Algae is harvested from the wild under ideal conditions provided by Nature in an environment that provides an abundance of nutrients. It is an organic "real food". The Opto-Crystallization patterns of fresh water algae show the Chlorella and Spirulina to be flat and unsophisticated, indicating a far less energetic vibrational field.
The sprout and grass types of "green foods" are often used as rich sources of chlorophyll and for other attributes - but they are only as good as the contents of the vat in which they are grown. The chlorophyll content is about two to three times that of alfalfa, a common source of dietary chlorophyll. They're not nearly as rich as Blue Green Algae or contain algae's balanced unique amino acid profile or the natural pytonutrients that make the Blue Green algae so special. Whenever you are in doubt, we encourage you to try them all and compare for yourself.
5.Q: "How can such a small amount of Algae make such a difference in the way I feel? Does it contain high concentrations of nutrients?"
A: Blue Green Algae is not an extract or concentrated formula, but a whole, organic "real food", which is naturally balanced. Its attribute is that it contains small amounts of so many vital, essential nutrients in balanced, complexed and easily assimilable forms. Countless studies have demonstrated that the body does its best when given small amounts of quality, balanced nutrients.
6.Q: "What is the best method for processing the algae?"
A: Freshwater algae must be processed quickly in order to prevent spoilage and loss of valuable nutrients. Freeze-drying, while a more expensive method, allows us to remove the water from the Algae cells and preserves the algae's integrity. Most of the methods for drying the algae utilize high temperatures (as much as 500 - 600 degrees F). The best method uses freeze-drying so that the quality of the algae is not compromised and remains intact. Not all freeze-drying methods are equal though. The methods that use high temperatures destroy the precious nutrients and the enzymatic activity. Our company uses low temperature drying and quick processing to preserve the heat and light sensitive algae's nutritional content. We are able to maintain 97% of the nutritive value.
7.Q: "Are there any medically proven health benefits?"
A: Recent scientific research shows that Aphanizomenon flos-aquae, also known as Blue Green Algae, has a unique stimulating action on the immune system. Studies are indicating that it also lowers cholesterol, builds hemoglobin, and enhances the nervous system. Another independent research has shown that eating the algae stimulates the movement of an average of 40% (nearly 1 billion!) of the circulating Natural Killer cells from the blood to the tissues within two hours of consumption. Once inside the tissues their main function is to perform immune system clean-up so they are responsible for finding and removing any unhealthy cells, such as cancer or virally contaminated cells.
8.Q: "Why is Blue Green Algae called a "brain food?"
A: Blue Green Algae contains amino acids that help build needed neuropeptides to feed the nervous system's delicate neuro-transmitters. It also contains essential B vitamins and essential fatty acids and lipids (fats) that are needed for the nerves and brain to function optimally.
9.Q: "How much algae should I take?"
A: There is a time proven guide available from my office that is the perfect way to introduce this nutritional power-house to your body and gradually discover the daily amount that works best for you. I strongly suggest you follow those directions and don't try to rush the schedule. Once you finish with the initial program then you can experiment and let your body be your guide. Be aware of what your body is telling you. If you feel you need more energy, add more algae. If you feel you are receiving enough energy or you notice changes, stay at that level for a while. Always remember to keep in close contact with your sponsor, especially if you notice any questionable changes and ask for guidance if necessary. Remember it takes time for the body to interact with the algae and to gain benefits at the cellular level. Be open for some wonderful things to happen - you're in for a treat!
10.Q: "When is the best time to eat Blue Green Algae?"
A: Blue Green Algae is best taken with water or juice, with food (usually breakfast, lunch or both). It also can be sprinkled on food. Please note that it may not be advisable to take the algae late or at night because it may tend to energize you too much and disturb your sleeping patterns or keep you awake.
11.Q: "How can I get the most from the algae?"
A: If less than one percent of your diet can make this much difference, wouldn't you like the other 99 percent to be the best that it can be, too? Eat a wide variety of wholesome foods such as more fruits, vegetables, grains, and nuts. Drink plenty of purified or filtered water and get some exercise each week. Have fun and get plenty of sleep. Avoid processed foods, junk foods, carbonated or sugary beverages, and eat less red meat. Moderate your alcohol intake and watch what you eat. Use common sense. These things can make a big difference in how you benefit from the algae. The algae works better when it doesn't have to compete with a diet that is inappropriate for good health.
12.Q: "How do I know Blue Green Algae is safe?"
A: Every day, a sample of fresh algae is taken and analyzed to determine the species is pure Aphanizomenon flos-aquae. These tests show that the algae in the lake is usually 99% Aphanizomenon flos-aquae, with the small remainder being Pediastrum boryanum, a non-toxic algae. To double check and to insure the algae are totally toxin-free, a series of precise biochemical assays are made. A test called an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is used to check for any toxins from a different algae called Microcystis. The Company also double checks for neurotoxins, produced by Anabaena flos aquae. Among other tests, the very advanced technology of high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC), is used. This test easily identifies the presence of even trace amounts of any such organic substances. These tests are part of an entire series of tests done on every batch of Blue Green Algae. It is important to remember that these testing standards, far exceed those of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. There is no food product we know of that undergoes more stringent quality and purity control analysis and tests. A booklet is available on the safety of the algae. Order, "The Quality & Safety of Blue Green Algae" pamphlet: Product Code# 75-104-00, $1.00 each.
