Richard Oreck
Richard is the broker/owner of Coldwell Banker Mountain Gate Properties. He was born and raised in Los Angeles. He graduated from UCLA with a bachelor degree in psychology. At the same time he was working in a private clinic as a therapist for children with learning, emotional, and movement problems. In 1971 he moved to Mount Shasta where his degree and experience were not helpful in finding work.

In this wondrous, new world he learned to use a chain saw, raise goats and chickens, drive in snow, and many other activities that most Los Angeles people never experience. He had great adventures splitting and selling cedar fence rails, gathering and marketing used railroad ties, and other odd things to make a living. In 1975, while working at the ski shop he got his real estate license and began a whole new career.

In 1979 with two new agents, Nancy Schneider and Jim Ayer, he opened Mountain Gate Properties. His guiding force was to create a real estate office based on the principles of honesty, integrity, and professionalism and in which clients' needs were given first priority. In 1995 he purchased a franchise from Coldwell Banker and the office became Coldwell Banker Mountain Gate Properties. Richard's real estate career has been a wonderful opportunity for learning, personal growth, making new friends, and the rewards of assisting people fulfill their needs and dreams.

Richard loves the natural beauty and magic of the outdoors. He hikes, skis, snowshoes, and seeks any opportunity to be outside. He enjoys travel, meditation, fiction and nonfiction reading, and at times practices martial arts. Richard is fascinated with the possibilities of computers and the hidden potentials of man, and is thankful to be alive in this incredible time of adventure and change.
