Jan 19, 2008, Sat: Club Ride, Potluck and Campout. What a wonderful weekend! The snow was great, the weather was great and the company was fantastic! On Sat we had 33 sled that had lunch together at Surprise Lk. A small group of guys split from the group and did some extreme riding, but we all ate lunch together. We made the entire loop around Ash Butte Creator and back to Chuck’s Park. We put over 50 miles on. We had first time riders along with children and some ladies that hadn’t been out in awhile. It was really fun, the group was wonderful. And no Club ride would be a Club ride without a broken bumper, a runaway sled and some stuckage. But no one was hurt and everyone enjoyed themselves. The potluck was a great success too. We had more people for the potluck then the ride and there was enough food to feed us for a week. Everything was great and I know I wish I could have eaten more. There were six campers and motor homes that camped out with the Club, but there was no parking left anywhere on Saturday. A big group was down from OR and they were camped in the RV area and outside
the Parking area. Saturday, there were trucks and trailers parked way down the road leading to the Park. Boy do we need more parking! I forgot my camera, but I’m hoping to get some pictures from someone else. If you didn’t make it, you really missed a great day. Thanks to everyone who made the day one to remember! ...Eileen
