I wish I had a penny for every mile I've traveled.
I started out doing cross country through the U.S.A.
driving, hitchhiking, and flying on my endless quest for adventure.
In 1973, I went overland from Europe on the Hippie Trail to India.
It was an amazing time, and a trip that is no longer possible.
I was 26, single, and a woman traveling alone through some very exotic places.
Fortunately for me, in Turkey, I met some cool people to share
a BUS with through to Kabul, Afghanistan.
In Iran, the locals offered to trade hashish for me!
Like I said, my companions were cool, otherwise, I would still be in the white slave market!
I went all the way to India and studied with a Guru,
and traveled to Nepal.
I have since traveled through Mexico, Central and South America.
I have always prefered traveling overland
because you get closer to the people and have a true experience of what life is in the country.
If I were to live anywhere in the world other than the United States
and my home in Mt. Shasta, I would have to choose Guatemala
as the most beautiful place on earth.
After three days there,
I realized that my cheeks were hurting from smiling so much!
