A Brief History
California Kamloops, Inc., was conceived in June 1946 because sport fishing in the Sacramento River was being threatened as a result of the construction of Shasta Dam.
The California Kamloops organization was incorporated in 1951 by a group of energetic Redding sportsmen. The non-profit corporation has had a membership as high as 2500 members. Its purpose is for the propagation and planting of fish in Lake Shasta and the Sacramento River.
The small revenue derived from our annual convention and campground fees is used to achieve these goals.
