    PASTOR JIM IS GONE

After six years Pastor Jim has moved on to what he might think is greener pastures but we are ready to harvest what was planted here during those years.

WHERE ARE WE GOING?

The sessions from each church have met and entered into conversation as to how we proceed until we can call a pastor. We are reviewing the covenant that we had for the parish and will recommend and make changes necessary to continue sharing a pastor and interacting with each other. We have agreed that we would not be hasty and move into a situation that might not work.

SO WHAT HAVE WE DONE?

First priority was to secure pulpit supply for each church and then possibly look toward finding an interim.  Gerry Watson and Andy Campbell are in conversation as Gerry talks with potential candidates to preach.  We have actually been quite fortunate as God is watching out for us.

March 30th Elder Jim Ray will preach at Grace

March 30th Elder Jim Tyhurst will preach at McCloud

April 6th Rev. Richard Evans will preach at both churches

April 13th Rev Gary L. Brom, Jr. will preach at both churches; Palm Sunday

April 17th Rev. Ray Horst will lead a Maundy Thursday/Seder meal  service for  both congregations @ Grace Church, 6:00 p.m.

April 18th Rev. Ray Horst will lead a Good Friday Worship for both  congregations at the McCloud Church, 7:00 p.m.

April 20th Rev. Ray Horst will preach at both churches; Easter Sunday.

April 27th Rev. Gary L. Brom, Jr. will preach at both churches

May 4th Rev. Karen Bolte will preach at both churches

We are in discussions with the A. W. Tozer Seminary in Redding about having seminary students who are in their final semester coming and preaching for the rest of the month of May.  Pat, the professor with whom I’ve been in contact with, tells me that the students must have some pulpit preaching time before they graduate, and he thinks this would be a great opportunity for them.  It will also give us some insight as to what type of pastors are coming into the market place.

If you know of someone who can preach or who wants to preach or is a preacher, please let someone on session know.  Finding a called pastor could be a long and tedious process so we must be prepared to do much of the work a pastor would normally do.

If you need assistance of a pastor call Elder John Christ or Elder Gerry Watson and we will assist you with your concerns.

PEACE

Gerry Watson,

Assistant to the Pastor
