Allow me to introduce myself. My name
is Richard Hallock and I am seeking work as a full time computer instructor
at the grade school level (K-8), or as a classroom teacher (K-6) in a
technologically oriented school district. My ideal position would be
teaching art via the use of computer technology. A selection of
student generated digital art can be found on the student gallery page.
I currently hold a B.A. in telecommunications and a multiple subject
teaching credential from California State University, Chico. At
present, I am also pursuing a master's degree in Instructional
Technology there.
Over the years I have used a great variety of software and hardware. Click here for a listing of software and hardware that I am familiar with.
In 1995 I started designing web pages. Over the past few years I have worked on a diverse range of web pages from educational pages and business pages, to personal pages and experimental publishing pages.

I am currently employed as the Computer Instructor in the Reeds Creek

at stretching the school's technology budget as far as it would go,
as well as repairing broken equipment, developing the school
technology plan and installing a file server.

at Bidwell School. The work has included setting up and maintaining a
file server as well as developing and teaching the curriculum. Click

my own Independent video production business under the business name
of Film Classics and Company. I videotaped weddings, football,
soccer, rugby, softball as well as inventories and houses for
insurance purposes. This job gave me over 400 hours of field video
production of a wide variety.
Over the years I
have become involved with many committees and groups related to
technology.
I sat on the Sir-Net development committee which developed a working
plan to bring internet access to Tehama County schools.

years.

then I have been helping others to learn to put their thoughts and
ideas on paper.
In 1985 I was the newsletter edit for the Atari Users Group of
Chico.

the guise of HyperCard stacks.
In 1986 I edited the CSU, Chico Anthropology newsletter.
From 1993 to 1995 I edited "True Tales of Computer Adventure" a
newsletter distributed to teachers at the various schools I worked at
dedicated to making the classroom computer more productive and useful
to both students and teachers. This newsletter was filled with useful
factoids and tips for getting the most out of your computer. Over the
past two years this newsletter has moved to the e-mail arena. If you
want to subscribe to the current incarnation of the educational
newsletter (currently delivered to over 300 e-mail boxes monthly)
drop me a message saying you would like to subscribe at rhallock@rbuesd.tehama.k12.ca.us
In May of 1996, I helped Bidwell School coordinate their "Net Day '96" activities with the rest of the district, and prepared a multimedia kiosk and presentation for the event.
In 1995 I took several classes in Web publishing and HTML, and since
then have been helping educators and students develop their own web
pages. I am currently working with students and educators at Reeds
Creek School to create a web page to showcase student projects and
community activities. That page (still under construction) can be
found at http://www.snowcrest.net/rbluff/reeds
