| Hoverboards

The Cruiser hoverboard is the most common
board. It's the
slowest, but it's the easiest to use and level up on. It only can
do a few tricks, but they come in different paint styles, and totally
different looks. Developers can also make custom models of
this hoverboard and make unique boards like dolphins, sharks, pirate ships,
butterflies, dragons, or anything.

The Radical hoverboard, the FASTEST hoverboard to use, however
it doesn't do any more tricks than the cruisers, but they can
get more air off a ramp due to it's faster speed. They
come in different paint jobs created by developers, but no custom models yet.
The Freestyles
are for expert tricks. They are faster than cruiser boards, but not as
fast as radicals. The main difference with these boards is they
are much smaller and they do many more tricks. Very fun!
Controls:
Controlling
your hoverboard is no different than most other vehicles. The
arrow keys will move and steer your hoverboard in the desired direction.
Down arrow breaks, but you can't go in reverse on a hoverboard manually.
You may often find your self sliding down an incline backwards, but
other than that there is no way to go in reverse. but you can still stop
yourself if you're sliding backwards like that.
Left mouse button performs a turbo but it doesn't
last long, and it takes time to recharge after it's been exhausted.
If you're in a race it's best to "tap" the turbo every second too keep
your speed consistent, rather
than fire the turbo off all at once. Please note that the turbo
functions only works when you're in action mode.
Jumping is done with the right mouse button. You must first
hold the button for a moment, and then let go to jump, if you don't hold
it down long enough the jump won't be very high. Once you jump in
this manor, and you are not already in the air when you let go of the
right mouse button you'll be in "trick mode" so you can perform stunts
and tricks.
In trick mode the arrow keys will perform special holds
of your hoverboard, and positions. Depending on the type of hoverboard you're
using, different arrow key combinations will make your avatar hold the
board in different ways, flip or spin the board from under them, so
"superman" positions and so
forth. Moving the mouse around will cause you to spin or flip.
If you hold down the right mouse button again, and move the mouse left
or right, you'll roll on your hoverboard.
Hoverboard Tricks:
There are three levels of board tricks in the
order of how complex you do your tricks. The more combinations you do,
the better trick you'll pull off, and the more experience you'll gain
towards the hoverboard skill.Each
level is indicated by the arm movements of your avatar after you've
landed and finished the
trick. Level 1 is when your avatar raises their right arm, with the elbow
bent, and shaking it's fist, with a rattlesnake sound. Level 2 is when your avatar raises it's right
arm strait upward, with a sounds that sounds like a dull thunderclap. Level 3 is when both arms shoot strait upward,
and you hear a slide whistle going up.
To do a level one trick you can stand idle on your
board, hold down right mouse button to crouch and let go to jump. Once you let go,
press any arrow key so your avatar grabs the board, and then
flick your mouse in one direction so that the board spins. If you jumped high
enough you should be able to do at least one full rotation, or more
depending on how sensitive your mouse is. Let go of the arrow
key before you land, and you should have successfully done a level 1 board
trick.
Level 2 or 3 tricks require you to jump off from a
ramp, a cliff, a hill, or anything that will get you air time.
With the extra air time simply change the direction of your spin and/or press a
different arrow key to hold your board differently. If you can pull of two
tricks in air and land successfully, you will have done a level 2 trick.
If you do more tricks in the air, then you did a 3 type trick, where both arms
of your avatar will go up. The more complex tricks you do, the quicker
you'll gain experience to level up.
The simplest level 3 trick to do is with a cruiser
board, and a ramp. Head over to Hoverboard Park, if you can find it. It's
not located on the map or in your favorite places, but it's a good place to
train on your hoverboard.
Go into "default action mode", and hold down your right mouse
button to crouch and prepare to jump. When you hit the ramp tap your left
mouse button so you'll boost, and release both mouse buttons just before you
leave the ramp so you'll get a higher jump and more air time. Then hold down the left
or right arrow
key, and then flick your mouse to the left. Once your hoverboard has made
a complete rotation, and still holding down that arrow key, flick your mouse to
the right to make another full rotation in the other direction, then if you
still have enough air time flick your mouse to the left again and do another
complete rotation. Do as many as you can before you hit the ground.
Release all keys and mouse buttons just before you hit the ground and make sure
the hoverboard is under you, or you may wipe out, and gain no experience. If you done this correctly you'll get a level
3 trick, with both arms up in the air! 'woohoo
