Logan is draged kicking and fighting back to DSHQ where the candman place him in a chair and the computer begins a process called surrogation. The original idea was to have holograms used to have Logan's head floating around him. The eventualy used holograms of Logan's head, but the effect was not very convincing on film. Though visitors to the set could see the 3-D effect viewers of the movie could not.

Ok so it was not as impressive as they first envisioned it. Perhaps some floating heads could have achieved more of an 'effect.'
