Wow, I look at those numbers
up there and I start to think this is really happening. I'm actually
going to walk all the way from georgia to maine. I look at those
numbers again and I start to panic that this whole experience is
going by way too quickly. I'm loving it though. It's been raining
like crazy in PA, which is exactly where we happen to be at the
moment. We plan on crossing over into our 8th state and New Jersey
tomorrow! We did get caught in the middle of all of that flooding
and despite what logic would tell you, it does flood on the tops
of mountains as well. Last week consisted of wading through mid-calf
to knee deep water for 6 or so days in a row. Wet socks, shoes and
clothes 24 hours a day for 5 days. Glad we had the sense to double
line our sleeping bags so those were dry at night. Things are drying
out now though and spirits are up- especially as we've finally caught
up to our old "trail family" and are now walking with
Jangles, Baro, Mouse, Donkey (Love), Hot Springs, The River Weasel,
Silverfoot and Gringo again. (The trail name thing is kind of fun
out here on the AT).
Miss and love you all
Jessica ("Shasta")
