How to Play Reverse:

Single-Clicking on the arrows under the digits reverses the sequence of the digits from the first digit to the "clicked" digit. By continued reversals, you can make the random digits progress from 1 to 9. When you have accomplished this Herculean feat, then you have won the game.

Correct sub-sequences are shown as Light Green or Dark Green , and correct, but reversed (high to low), sub-sequences are shown as Light Red or Dark Red. Digits that are not part of a sequence, but are in the correct location are shown as Aqua. Out-of-sequence and incorrect location digits are shown as Black.

Here is a game example with explanation:

Turn #1 6 5 3 1 7 2 4 8 9     First we want 6 and 5 next to 7.
               ^
Turn #2 1 3 5 6 7 2 4 8 9     Move 7 to the left to move next to 8.
                 ^
Turn #3 7 6 5 3 1 2 4 8 9     Move 7 next to 8.
                     ^
Turn #4 4 2 1 3 5 6 7 8 9     Move 1 and 2 to their correct locations.
             ^
Turn #5 1 2 4 3 5 6 7 8 9     Move 3 and 4 to the left for reversal.
               ^
Turn #6 3 4 2 1 5 6 7 8 9     Correct 3 and 4 and setup win.
           ^
Turn #7 4 3 2 1 5 6 7 8 9     Finish by reversing to correct order.
               ^
Turn #8 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 And we have a winner!

Tips and Hints:

Reverse is a game of logic and skill (with a little luck thrown in with your initial random sequence). You can only work on digits on the left-hand side. Two ways to think about where to choose to reverse are:
  1. You want the first digit(s) on the left moved to where you are clicking.
  2. You want the digit you are clicking moved to the left side so you can work on it (them).
Once you have successive digits to the far right correct, from 9 down, then you have no need to move them (such as Turn #4 above). The Green/Red and Black colored groups help to show you what numbers need to be worked on. At first, if you aren't sure how to play, just work on getting 8 next to 9, 7 next to 8, etc., and in the correct locations. Later, as you learn to play the game, you will get better at seeing logical shortcuts. Have fun.    Back to top.
