Day Dreaming Housewife


               I have starred in lots of movies
               Standing at my kitchen sink
               And many a scene I've to do over
               Cause the kids asked for a drink.

               Scene one take two hurry to the set
               Must be ready for the cameras
               Hope my dress aint wet.
               Got to wash my hair this morning
               Camera crew is never late
               Hope my kids will play a little longer
               Got to have my coffee break.

               Scene one take three
               Johnnie skinned his knee
               Stop the cameras grab the band aids
               No publicity.
               Scrub the floors and take out garbage
               May not seem so glamorous
               But when it's done and I star with Elvis
               Then I soon forget the mess.

               Scene one take four
               Darn that man of mine
               I will never win an Oscar
               Getting his meals on time.
               Day dreaming day dreaming housewife
               Day dream the whole day through
               Day dreaming day dreaming housewife
                Sometimes day dreams do come true.
