1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface
of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from
the darkness.
5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And
there was evening, and there was morning-- the first day.
6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate
water from water."
7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse
from the water above it. And it was so.
8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was
morning-- the second day.
9 And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place,
and let dry ground appear." And it was so.
10 God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called
"seas." And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants
and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their
various kinds." And it was so.
12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their
kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.
And God saw that it was good.
13 And there was evening, and there was morning-- the third day.
14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to
separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons
and days and years,
15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on
the earth." And it was so.
16 God made two great lights-- the greater light to govern the day
and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.
17 God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth,
18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness.
And God saw that it was good.
19 And there was evening, and there was morning-- the fourth day.
20 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let
birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky."
21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and
moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and
every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and
fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth."
23 And there was evening, and there was morning-- the fifth day.
24 And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to
their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild
animals, each according to its kind." And it was so.
25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock
according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground
according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and
let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the
livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along
the ground."
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created
him; male and female he created them.

womb.
(NIV)
Jeremiah 1:5
5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born
I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
(NIV)
1 I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by
those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I
said, 'Here am I, here am I.'
2 All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who
walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations--

Matthew 11:7

by the wind?
(NIV)
Amos 4:13
13 He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals his thoughts

Genesis 32:22-32
22 That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two maidservants
and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok.
23 After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions.
24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak.
25 When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the
socket of Jacob's hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with
the man.
26 Then the man said, "Let me go, for it is daybreak." But Jacob replied,
"I will not let you go unless you bless me."
27 The man asked him, "What is your name?" "Jacob," he answered.
28 Then the man said, "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,
because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome."
29 Jacob said, "Please tell me your name." But he replied, "Why do
you ask my name?" Then he blessed him there.
30 So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, "It is because I saw God
face to face, and yet my life was spared."
31 The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel, and he was limping because
of his hip.
32 Therefore to this day the Israelites do not eat the tendon attached
to the socket of the hip, because the socket of Jacob's hip was touched
near the tendon.

Isaiah 6:1-10
1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne,
high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.
2 Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they
covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they
were flying.
3 And they were calling to one another: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD
Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory."
4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and
the temple was filled with smoke.
5 "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips,
and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King,
the LORD Almighty."
6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand,
which he had taken with tongs from the altar.
7 With it he touched my mouth and said, "See, this has touched your
lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for."
8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And
who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"
9 He said, "Go and tell this people: "'Be ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.'
10 Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and
close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their
ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed."
(NIV)
John 1:1-3
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God.
2 He was with God in the beginning.

has been made.

Psalms 99-100
1 The LORD reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between
the cherubim, let the earth shake.
2 Great is the LORD in Zion; he is exalted over all the nations.
3 Let them praise your great and awesome name-- he is holy.
4 The King is mighty, he loves justice-- you have established equity;
in Jacob you have done what is just and right.
5 Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy.
6 Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel was among those who
called on his name; they called on the LORD and he answered them.
7 He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud; they kept his statutes
and the decrees he gave them.
8 O LORD our God, you answered them; you were to Israel a forgiving
God, though you punished their misdeeds.
9 Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the
LORD our God is holy.
CHAPTER 100
1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give
thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness
continues through all generations.
