MEDICINES:

 SURGICAL SUPPLIES:

  1. Cloth or disposable surgical gowns

  2.  Blue towels, laboratory sponges

  3. Plastic eye goggles

  4.  Surgical masks and caps

  5.  Sterilization square wraps made out of cotton or cotton/poly., colors preferred: white, lt. blue, lt. green or print; Sizes 12"xl2", 24"x24",36"x36", 48"x48", 48"x6O". Good used tablecloths and sheets can be used for this. They are to be double thickness, with the seams turned inside the two layers, then sew around the edges and sew an "X" corner to corner.
     

MATERNITY:

  1. The BEH maternity is a center for difficult deliveries and care for premature babies, therefore, there is a need for the following items:

  2. Premature infant booties, knit caps, pacifiers, and outfits.

  3. Baby gavage tubes, sizes: 5,6,8

  4. Flannel baby receiving blankets

  5. Pear-shaped suction bulbs

For those of you that could sew or knit preemie outfits, here are the measurements for a 3 lb. premature baby:

  1. head circumference = 11. 8”
  2. chest circumference = 10. 2"
  3. length = 16.5"; foot length = 2.75”.

UNIFORMS:

  1. Men's white slacks (cotton or cotton/poly) sizes med, lg.

  2. Women's white skirts: sizes: 10-18

  3. Doctor type smocks or lab coats (short sleeves are best) for women or men: sizes sm to x-lg

  4. Uniforms for nurses: can use scrub uniform pattern; use white cotton/polyester. Sizes: sm to x-lg

  5. Student uniforms; made of lt. blue or blue/white gingham checked material. Can use scrub uniform pattern or simple short-sleeved lab coat type pattern. Be sure there are pockets. For dresses, women wear them mid-calf (average ht. 5'2"-5'8"): sizes 10-18. Smock-type loose fitting short-sleeved dresses are OK too.  For the 2000 school year, we need mainly men's scrub tops as 9 of the 15 new students are men.
